Dingle Distillery is a whiskey, gin and vodka distillery located just outside Dingle town in the tiny village of Milltown. It is a new alcohol factory, established in 2012, which also offers the opportunity to visit its production halls with a guide telling about the process of alcohol production.
The production of whiskey from triple distilled barley has been known in Ireland since the early Middle Ages. After the crisis of the industry in the early 1980s, many new, small distilleries are now appearing on the market, producing alcohol mainly for the local market.
One of them is the Dingle Distillery, founded in 2012 in the former sawmill belonging to the Fitzgerald family. In 2016, it released its first whiskey series. It also produces vodka and gin. The distillery offers the opportunity to visit the plant combined with learning about the production technology of various alcohols.
