Parque Nacional de Syöte

Syöte National Park is located in the territory of North Ostrobothnia and Lapland. It includes a number of old forests, peat bogs and swamps. A total of 122 km of marked hiking trails have been marked out here. They include both one-day routes, e.g. the nature trail of Vattukuru, and those intended for at least a few days' hike. One of the routes leads, among others to the lookout tower in Ahmakallio.

In addition, the park has bicycle routes ranging from 19 to 54 km long, a 22-kilometer kayak route and ski runs, altogether 33 km long. Some of the routes start at the Syöte Visitor Center, located at the foot of the Iso-Syöte Fell. There you can see exhibitions devoted to local nature and human activities in this area since the Ice Age.
