The picturesque landscape park covers the area of the Anaga mountain range with numerous gorges and laurel forests. It is a protected UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. There are numerous paths and tourist routes in the park. It is a great place for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding.
The flora and fauna of the park are surprisingly diverse. There are many species of invertebrates and birds, such as canaries, kestrels, shears and various species of owls. There are also endemic species that can only be found here. Among them are laurel pigeons and canary pigeons.
There are about 25 villages and hamlets in the park, with a total population of less than 2,000. These are mainly agricultural settlements that deal with the traditional cultivation of potatoes, sweet potatoes and grapevines.
