The lighthouse was built in 1864, which makes it one of the oldest in the Canary Islands. It consists of a single-storey building and a 19-meter-high brick tower. The lighthouse is still active and the house houses the interpretation center of the Jandía Nature Reserve with 5 exhibitions.
