Castillo de Calatrava la Vieja

This medieval city was probably built in the 8th century by the Umayyads - the Arab dynasty of caliphs that ruled in Al-Andalus from the 8th to the 11th centuries. It was abandoned in the 15th century, is now in ruins and is a tourist attraction.
